More efficient 80 meter 5-btv add on!
I added a 40 meter trap to the top of my 5-btv. 1:1 for 100 Kc now! entire phone portion useable without a tuner and a lot more efficient as compared to a bone stock BTV! good part is that it only takes 24 feet of wire or so after the trap. So the antenna looks a lot less like a Macguyver project. To build a 40 meter trap just look it up on google there are tons of good resources for HF traps. This is the best way to add 80 meter or make it more efficient without losing any efficiency in the other bands.

Next I plan on Wide-banding the antenna by making the Sloper wire (Cage loaded). Hopefully extending The bandwidth of the entire band. I want ALL of the band to be under 1:3 SWR!!
